Routes to Armenia

To travel to Armenia, you can choose air, train, and bus routes, depending on your budget and preferences. 

There are two airports in Armenia. "Zvartnots" is the primary air gate and is located in Yerevan, while "Shirak" is located in Gyumri. As for the trains, they run from Yerevan to Georgia and back, which is convenient if you plan to travel to other countries in the South Caucasus as well. The bus is the cheapest option with routes to Russia, Ukraine, Iran, and Georgia.  

Visa Info

An entry visa is compulsory for the citizens of most countries. The entry visas can be obtained online, at Armenian embassies abroad, or upon arrival at Zvartnots International Airport or other border-control points. A tourist can get a 21-day visa upon submission of the visa application form, photograph, original of the passport with a validity period of a minimum of 4 months, and visa fee of AMD 3000 (approx. National Currency

The national currency of Armenia is dram (AMD). Paper notes are issued in denominations of 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000, 20000, 50000, 100000. Coins are issued in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500. For exchange rates, visit the website of the Central Bank of Armenia. However, the majority of shops and hotels in Yerevan accept credit cards as well. Besides, numerous exchange bureaus and banks in Yerevan and other cities of Armenia exchange foreign banknotes. Most supermarkets also have money exchange offices.
